With this great weather I'm sure everyone has been out enjoying this heat, but are you protected from harmful UV rays?
The thinning ozone means more UV rays are able to penetrate through and cause damage to our delicate eyes. Like our skin requiring sunscreen for UV protection, our eyes need sunglasses!
If you have conditions such as cataracts or AMD, keeping eyes protected is of a huge importance to reduce the risk of these conditions progressing. Even if you don't have any conditions with your eyes, sunglasses can help reduce or slow the risk of UV damage. As a matter of fact, the World Health Organization estimates 80% of a person's lifetime exposure to damaging UV rays happens before the age of 18!
